Super Junior’s Sungmin expresses thoughts on his debut drama!
Sungmin, along with the rest of the cast, appeared at the drama’s Press Conference, which was held on November 25.
As the press conference went along, Sungmin stated, “I have previously worked in musicals and one-act plays, but ‘President’ is my first official acting opportunity, making it no different from being my first project. I feel as if I’ve earned a very big inheritance by being able to work with such respectable acting seniors’ right from the start.”
During the interview he also mentioned how he felt about the drama, “I feel 100 times more pressure because I’m worried about how I should portray my character, who is naive and blind to life’s problems, and acts on impulse and immaturity. Working alongside such talented actors has made me feel that much more pressure, to the point where my hands were shaking on the day of our first filming. My whole body felt congested after our first filming.
To conclude, my body is tired but my heart is joyful. I’m also anticipating the reviews on my new acting career. I hope people will give us their interest.”
The character that Sungmin will play is Jang Sungmin who possesses a sense of weakness and looks favorable towards his strong and passionate father.
Meanwhile, President will air its first episode following the action drama, Fugitive: Plan B on December 8th.

Actor Park Hae Jin Investigated for Possible Military Draft Evasion
Actor Park Hae Jin is being investigated for evading South Korea's two-year mandatory military service by falsely claiming to suffer from mental conditions.
Last week, police stated that they would investigate a hospital in Daegu on charges that its neuropsychiatry department had been providing false medical reports for men who wished to evade military service. Because military service law exempts neuropsychiatric patients who have been treated for six months or hospitalized for over one month, with these medical reports, draft evaders would be rendered unfit for service.
Park Hae Jin was in the department records as having received outpatient treatment from June 2003 to March 2004. During this time, he was prescribed medication for schizophrenia. In March 2004, he became exempt from fulfilling his two-year military duty.
On Friday, Park's lawyers, Yoon & Yang LLC, released a statement denying the suspicion. The statement clarified that Park had not been exempted for schizophrenia, but for depression and social phobia. Park had been suffering from depression from a very young age, and was treated at the hospital from June 2003 to November 2005.
The statement also reported that Park had not debuted on TV until 2006, when he appeared in the drama "The Infamous Chill Sisters", and so his exemption in March 2004 rendered invalid any claim that Park had evaded the draft to continue his career as an actor uninterrupted.
Park is willing to take a reexamination to prove his innocence. The statement read: "Park believes there is nothing to hide as long as he is guilty about nothing and believes the entire truth must be opened to the public. The ruling came six years, ago but if he is judged to have a body that is healthy enough to serve in the military compared to the past, he will happily do so."
If police investigation reveals that the hospital is guilty of aiding draft evaders, Park Hae Jin's case will be handed over to the Military Manpower Administration.

JYJ Returns Home, Performs Two Concerts in Seoul
JYJ returned home late last week to perform two concerts on November 27 and 28 at the Main Olympic Stadium in Jamsil in Seoul.
The November 27 concert was said to have suffered from some setbacks, most notably the hail and fierce winds that took off the tent that had been installed over the roof of the stadium to protect the 35,000 fans from the below-freezing weather. The removal of the roof caused the concert to be delayed an hour. In reference to this, and also the many difficulties that have plagued JYJ from the start, Junsu said, "Getting struck by wind is said to happen only to those who are flying. I believe that the many winds that we are being struck with are blessings in disguise, meaning that we will fly high up."
Even in terms of the two-day concert, this could be said to be true, as the difficulties faced during the first concert were absent during the second. JYJ's team quickly took advantage of some of the mediocre details observed during the first concert, such as an awkward arrangement of floor seating and an under-used side stage, and corrected them in time for the second concert. In addition, the initial minor awkwardness felt by the fans who could not understand the emotional depth of many of the songs in the English-language album "The Beginning", had disappeared by the second as fans had a chance to grow accustomed to the songs. But during both concerts, the fans were rewarded by JYJ with strong performances from their album, "The Beginning", as well as solo performances and covers. The slick dance moves, designed by celebrity choreographer Jeri Slaughter, as well as the impressive light show, helped ensure a top-notch concert.
