* qualified to VICTOR BWF Super Series Finals (until last tournament : Japan Super Series)

Exciting finale on the cards in Odense

An all-China women’s singles final, an all-Japan women’s doubles final, an all-European mixed doubles final, and finally a Denmark-Indonesia final in the men’s singles and men’s doubles.

That sums up the line up for Sunday’s Denmark Open Super Series 2010 final day matches.

In the men’s singles, Denmark’s flag bearer Jan Jorgensen will square up against Taufik Hidayat while in the men’s doubles, defending champions Mathias Boe-Carsten Mogensen will take on reigning Olympic champions Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan.

Mogensen-Boe, who have not dropped a game en route to the final are in a buoyant mood, the Indonesians are also optimistic and all indicators point towards a great final.

“We are aiming for a win. We have been in many finals, so of course it is only the goal that really counts so we are aiming for that tomorrow,” said Boe towww.badmintondenmark.com after the pair’s 21-11, 21-16 win over Japan’s Yoshiteru Hirobe-Kenta Kazuno.

Markis-Hendra, on the other hand beat another Japanese pair Hiroyuki Endo-Kenichi Hakiyawa 21-11, 21-9.

In the men’s singles, Taufik was stretched to three games in his 21-15, 17-21, 21-17 win over China’s Du Pengyu and a win over Jorgensen in the final will bring the Indonesian closer to a place in the season ending VICTOR BWF Super Series Finals.

The Finals, which will be played in Chinese Taipei on 5-9 January next year, is a tournament for the top eight players/pairs in the Super Series Standings.

Jorgensen, meanwhile, beat Hong Kong’s Hu Yun 21-12, 21-17.

In the women’s doubles, all-Japan final was assured after Russia’s Valeria Sorokina-Nina Vislova was beaten by top seeds Miyuki Maeda-Satoko Suetsuna 21-11, 21-9.

The Japanese will play Shizuka Matsuo-Mami Naito who benefited from Mizuki Fujii-Reika Kakiiwa’s withdrawal mid way through the third game at 11-5.

Fujii-Kakiiwa won the first game 24-22 but lost the second 19-21 and at one stage of the game the two pairs played an amazing 172 strokes before scoring a point.

In the women’s singles, Wang Yihan, the top seed will play compatriot Liu Xin in the final after beating Bulgaria’s Petya Nedelcheva 21-8, 21-10.

“It is a pity that I will not be playing Tine (Baun) in the final. However, I will still prepare my best to play in the final tomorrow,” said Yihan to www.badmintondenmark.com in reference to the No 2 seed’s loss in the last 16.

In the mixed doubles, England’s Nathan Robertson-Jenny Wallwork will take on former world champions Thomas Laybourn-Kamilla Rytter Juhl in the final.

Miyuki Maeda/Satoko Suetsuna memastikan terjadinya All-Japanese final usai mengalahkan ganda Rusia, Valeria Sorokina/Nina Vislova 21-11 21-9.

Pancing Medan, Kamis (28/10).

Unggulan kedua Tommy Sugiarto (Pelatda DKI) turut melaju ke semifinal setelah meraih kemenangan mudah atas Ari Yuli Wahyu Hartono (PB Djarum) 21-11, 21-13. Tiket terakhir ke semifinal diraih atlet non unggulan Achmat Rivai (PB Bank Sumsel Babel) setelah menundukkan Yoga Pratama (PB Alfamart) rubber game 21-19, 8-21, 21-13.

Comment: 2NE1's "Clap Your Hands" remains No. 1 for the second week. This song is from their first full studio album "To Anyone". The girls did well last year with their powerful charisma on stage and their showy fashion sense. 2NE1 will have three title tracks – “Can’t Nobody,” “Go Away,” and "Clap Your Hands” - that will be performed simultaneously for promotions, probably a first in Korean music that an album have three different title songs. Top producers, Teddy, e.knock, choice37, and PK among others have participated in the album to bring out strong hip-hop beats, R&B, as well as reggae.

2. (+1) Wheesung -

Comment: Multi-talented artist Wheesung, who’s capable of working with all sorts of genres – ballad, R&B, dance, rock, and so forth, returns after ten months with a new single album, “Real Slow is Back.” It includes title track “Even Thought of Marriage” and newly arranged versions of “Rose” and “Love, That Bad Disease” – songs that were included in his sixth album. “Even Thought of Marriage” is a powerful R&B dance number composed by renowned composed Kim Do Hoon and penned by Wheesung himself. It has strong sounds backed up with the artist’s solid vocals. The song is about a man who feels sad and pathetic when a lover he even decide to marry, leaves him. This week it rises to No. 2 again.
