Panahan Pasang Target Juara Umum

Ketua Umum Persatuan Panahan Indonesia (Perpani) Siti Hediati Suharto mengatakan, pihaknya menargetkan tim panahan Indonesia meraih juara umum pada SEA Games XXVI, 11 November mendatang.

Siti Hediati mengemukakan, dirinya sangat yakin tim panahan Indonesia mampu meraih juara umum mengingat sejumlah prestasi internasional pernah diraih tim panahan nasional.

Asian Games Sports : ARCHERY

The origin of archery dates back to more than 50 thousand years ago. Archery has a long history in China, and the arrow and the bow were invented as early as the Stone Age. The modern archery originated in the 14th century in Britain. Archery made its debut in the Asian Games in Tokyo in 1958.
The shooting distance is 70m. An elimination system is adopted in archery events.
The result of archery is decided by the scores of the arrow hitting various scoring zones. The nearer the arrow is to the center of the target face, the higher the scores.
The target face is a circle of 122cm in diameter, which is divided into five concentric color zones arranged from the center outwards as follows: yellow, red, light blue, black and white. Each color is divided by a thin line into two zones of equal width dividing the face into 10 scoring zones (1 -10).
Time limit refers to the specified time during which athletes shall shoot the arrow. In the individual ranking round, the time allowed for an athlete to shoot an end of six arrows is 240 seconds; in the elimination round, the time allowed for an athlete to shoot one arrow (including tie-break) when shoot alternately is 30 seconds. In the team eliminations competition, a team consists of 3 archers and each team will shoot 24 arrows: 4 ends of 6 arrows per end, each archer shoots 2 arrows, all 3 archers of a team will be required to finish shooting within the time limit (currently 2 minutes).
Individual competition can be divided into 2 steps: ranking round and elimination round. The ranking round will be conducted firstly. 64 archers in each gender will shoot 2 rounds, with each round 36 arrows, 72 arrows in total. According to the scores of these 72 arrows, the archers are paired for the match play in the elimination round. In the elimination round, each athlete will shoot 4 ends of 3 arrows, 12 arrows in total, each archer will have up to 30 seconds to shoot one arrow. The shooting way is by head to head style of competition; the winner will go to next round and will finally decide the champion.
The team competition is held among the top 16 men and women’s teams which are decided according to the combined top three scores from the individual ranking round, and paired for the match play, the 1st team will shoot with the 16th team, while the 2nd team shoot with the 15th team. Each team will shoot 24 arrows: 4 ends of 6 arrows per end, each archer shoots 2 arrows, all 3 archers of a team will be required to finish shooting within the time limit (currently 2 minutes).. The winning team will go the next round until the medal matching deciding on gold and silver medals.
