Three Indonesians Survive to Main Round

Indonesia sent three of their representatives through qualification round of Malaysia Grand Prix Gold 2011 that held at Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium on May 3. In women's singles, Desi Hera booked her place in the main draw after unpredictable result of the match. Hera sent out the fourth seeded of qualification, Hongkong's Mong Kwan Yi by 17-21, 21-12, 23-21. She played against the other Hongkong's, Tse Ying Suet on the final qualification and also won by rubber game, 19-21, 21-12, 21-9. She will meet sixth seeded, Japan's Eriko Hirose in the main round tomorrow.


Two different results taken by two doubles of Indonesia that started from qualification round. Hendra Setyo Nugroho-Tri Kusumawardhana stopped at the final round after lost from Malaysia's Tan Wee Tat-Tan Yip Jiun 21-12, 15-21, 21-19. On the other side, Albert Saputra-Rizki Yanu Kresnayandi just needed 23 minutes to passed the final round by winning 21-13, 21-15 from Chan Tsz Kit-Lo Lok Kei of Hongkong. Korean's Cho Gun Woo-Kwon Yi Goo as the 8th seeded will be the opponent on the first round of Albert-Rizki.


The top seeds of women's doubles qualification, Anneke Feinya Agustin-Nitya Krishinda Maheswari continued their walk to the main round after sent out Malaysian pairs, Chow Mei Kuan-Lee Meng Yean 21-16, 21-16 in 31 minutes. Anneke-Nitya also will meet the seeds of this tournament in the first round, Singapore's Shinta Mulia Sari-Yao Lei (6th seeded).
